Offered Here is a fine Victorian set of flatware or fish set. There are 16 matching pieces consisting of eight forks and eight knives. They all have ornate floral decorated Sterling Silver Ferules or bands where the handle meets the utensil end.
All of the pearl handles have a lovely luster and there is no damage. The forks measure 7 in length. The knives have the curved blunt blades and measure 8 1/2 in length. The blades are marked for Mermod & Jaccard Jewelry Co. This set is in very good estate condition and may need a touch up polish. There is no major silver loss, there is a very tiny bit of heel wear on the back of the forks but nothing major. There is no pitting to any of the knife blades, just normal fine surface scratches from use. Truly an awesome set and complete for 8 people. Was known as the Tiffany's of the midwest and dates back to 1845. The firm became Mermod, Jaccard & King in 1905 so this set dates before 1905.
