The only pieces that are magnetic are the knife blades. No other pieces are magnetic. The flatware was in a box that is in fair condition and marked inside lid with jeweler. See below for further information.
12 knives, 9 long, Holmes & Edwards marked on blade, all engraved with initial (I'm assuming). 12 forks, 7 long, engraved, Holmes & Edwards XIV on back of handle, there is another marker in front of name but hard to make out. 12 soup spoons, 7 long, Olnhausen & Smith XIV on back of handle, engraved. 11 spoons, 6 long, Olnhausen & Smith on back of handle, engraved.Ladle, 7" long, matches flatware, bowl is about 2.25" wide, Holmes & Edwards XIV on back of handle, engraved. Ladle, 6" long, matches flatware, bowl is 1.75" wide, Holmes & Edwards XIV on back of handle, engraved. Olnhausen & Smith on back of handle, 6 long, engraved.
Serving Spoon marked 1847 Rogers Bros A followed by 2 more marks I can't make out, 6 long. Bases on jeweler name in box, I'm assuming there are well over 100 years old.I found a news article mentioning Olnhausen Jewelers and Optometry!
