Walker & Hall 24 Pc Mother of Pearl Handled Ivy Chased Flatware Set w/Wood Chest! Superb Walker & Hall 24 Piece Mother of Pearl Handled Knife & Fork Set with a stunning Inlaid Wood Chest! This exquisitely crafted flatware set boasts beautifully chased Ivy detail with with ornate ferrules!

The thick carved mother of pearl handles show fiery colors when the light catches them! The individual pieces have a substantial feel, well weighted feel of quality flatware. All nested in a beautiful wood chest lined with deep blue velvet, decorated with a beautiful tufted satin & velvet lid with individual angled slots for each piece for maximum display! This set has been well preserved and still retains a brilliant mirror finish with minimal signs of use.

A couple stray marks and one fork tine has a small chip on the plate. (see photos) Otherwise, no areas plate loss, thinning or heel wear. The knife blades have crisp, unworn blade edges. The wonderful mother of pearl handles are without any chips, breaks or repairs and free of any significant age related discoloration except for one fork with a small patch of rust discoloration by the ferrule.

The knives measure 8 3/8" and the forks are 6 7/8". The knife blades are marked on the back "W&H S" for makers Walker & Hall of Sheffield, England c1852. The beautifully inlaid custom wood chest is in in very good condition, lined with dramatic dark blue velvet & tufted multi hued blue tufted satin & velvet, with individual slots for each piece! There slots store the flatware two layers, forks on the bottom with a flap that locks them in place when the knives are place in their slots above. There is a brass plate on the lid without engraving but has some wear.
